Hobbies: Basically what everyone else says, you know - reading, writing (fiction, specifically), music, photography, going to concerts when I can, hanging out with friends, etc. I've also recently become a lot more interested in language and culture.
Do you want snail mail penpals?: Yes, but I have a feeling it'd be a bad idea for me to have them at this point in time. :( I live with my parents and I'm pretty sure they would kill me if they found out I'd given our address out to random people on the internet (and that would be inevitable once the first letter arrives, aha), so we'll have to stick to e-mail for the time being. I'd still rather write actual letters than just chat, though.
Do you want new livejournal friends?: Nah, I don't really use LJ anymore. I've just been looking for a pen pal and realized what a great resource this could be, so I dug up my old account.

Favorite movies: American History X, Anchorman, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Edward Scissorhands, Juno, The Shining, Zoolander...I'm not very picky when it comes to movies. I've seen a little bit of everything, including a bunch of classics, although I'm not a movie buff at all. I like movies a lot; I just usually don't go out of my way to see them.
Favorite television shows: I don't watch much tv, so I pretty much consider everything I do watch a guilty pleasure...insert overly dramatic and cliche teen dramas (Gossip Girl, sigh) here. I also like a bunch of syndicated sitcoms and shows about travel and food.
Favorite music: A very small sampling: Chairlift, Chromeo, Cobra Starship, Death Cab for Cutie, Empires, Flight of the Conchords, Forgive Durden, Green Day, The Hush Sound, MGMT, Panic(!) At the Disco, Paramore, Passion Pit, Phantom Planet, The Postal Service, Rilo Kiley, Say Anything, The Spill Canvas, Tegan and Sara, This is Ivy League, Tilly and the Wall, Versaemerge, Weezer, old school slow jams, etc. I really love music and would love to maybe exchange mixtapes and recommendations if you have similar taste to mine. You don't have to in order to be my pen pal, of course, as long as you're not the type of person who's going to try and belittle me if you don't think my taste is "good." That goes for anything, not just music.
Favorite foods/drinks: I'm a chocoholic, oh man. There is no such thing as too chocolatey in my world.
Favorite books: I haven't been reading much lately, which kind of breaks my heart since I've always loved to. In the past, though, I've liked some Palahniuk, James Baldwin, Oscar Wilde, and classic (meaning pre-Disney) fairy tales, among tons of others. I'll give anything a chance, but I've never really been into fantasy or the supernatural. Except for Harry Potter.

I'd love to try being pen pals with anyone age 15-23 or so :) Though I'll warn (is that the right word?) you that I'm kind of a nerd and I have a pretty dry and very silly sense of humor. Like I said before, I'd really love to try writing actual letters even through e-mail (you know, in something like that handy dandy "write a friendly letter!" format that we all learned in 3rd grade or so), but I don't mind chatting.

I actually made a nearly identical post to this a few months ago, but it didn't work out because I ended up going on vacation somewhere I didn't have internet just a day or two after I posted and too much time passed. I hope to have some luck this time!
